Welcome to Puffin!

Welcome to Puffin class. We are a mixed class from years 3&4 and you will find us in the classroom opposite the hall. We are a respectful, ready and safe class, who enjoy being creative. We will do lots of inspiring and engaging learning throughout the year. There will be a key focus of times tables, presentation and reading. We have an exciting year ahead!

Term 1

This term we will be learning about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age! Our topic name is 'Once upon a Skara Brae'. In guided reading we will be reading 'The boy with a Bronze Axe', which links the Stone Age and Bronze Age. We will be reading the book ‘How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth’ and having a go at writing our own persuasive adverts. In maths this term we will be learning about the value of digits. In science we will be learning about our amazing body. In art we will be creating our own cave paintings which convey a message. It is going to be a great term!

Last Year 2024-25

Term 6

What a busy and creative term it has been for Years 3 and 4! We’ve had so much fun exploring Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as part of our English learning. Our final writing challenge was to create a fantasy story about what happens when Charlie steps into a brand-new inventing room—this time, one designed by the children themselves! Their imaginative chocolate inventions were truly extraordinary.

Much of our wider learning this term has focused on healthy eating and lifestyles, as well as where different foods come from—and the financial and environmental costs of producing them.

In Design and Technology, we’ve been busy designing and making magical, lickable wallpaper—a magical feat in itself!
