Dormouse House

We had a lovely session last Wednesday. Swift class had to make a suitable home for a dormouse and try and keep it’s core temperature warm while hibernating! The ‘dormouse’ were insulated plastic bottles with warm water inside!

A couple of pictures of their ‘hibernation dens’. The temperature was measured afterwards and most had lost between 5 and 10 degrees in the time of the session (this is normal).
